How does it work?

DUAL Oliva DNA+ is an effective way of permanently tagging machinery – and broadcasting to thieves that they won’t get away with stealing it.

The tagging solution comes in the form of a liquid. When applied onto an item’s surface, it leaves behind microdots that are invisible to the naked eye – but can be read by the police under ultraviolet light in seconds. Known as “forensic markers”, they contain a unique code sequence that’s registered exclusively to your client. A single particle is enough to provide irrefutable proof of ownership, so that in the unfortunate event that the item is stolen, identification and recovery of the equipment is much more likely.

Our kit includes signage warning thieves that your client’s premises is protected in bold, clear messaging. When potential thieves see the warning signs around your client’s premises, they are far more likely – if they have any sense - to avoid it in favour of an easier target.

Stolen goods that are forensically marked make ownership identification simple, and being caught with items that are forensically marked leaves thieves exposed to their crime. It also makes it harder for a criminal to pass the items off as their own, meaning there is less incentive to steal them in the first place.

How can my client access this benefit?

Once your client takes out our construction policy with Own Plant cover, they will receive our DUAL Oliva DNA+ forensic marking kit, free of charge. The kit includes simple, step-by-step instructions for applying DNA+ to their machinery, as well as signage and stickers on their plant and around their contract sites to show they are protected.

The final step after installing the solution is for your client to register to confirm they have installed the signage and forensic fluid. Once registered, we automatically apply a 50% reduction to their theft excess.
